Origin/meaning
The first quarter shows the arms of the Othon de la Roche family, former lords of the village. The second and third quarter refer to the (iron) industry and former water mills in the area. The two wavy bends symbolises the Ognon river and the small streams in the municipality. The fourth quarter shows the symbols of St. Paul (sword) and St. Peter (key), patron saints of the local church.
The crown refers to the three castles in the municipality.
