CHÂTELAIN (MAYENNE)
Département : Mayenne
French | D'azur à la fasce d'argent, maçonnée de sable, accompagnée de trois croisettes tréflées d'argent. |
English | (Mayenne) No blazon/translation known. Please click here to send your (heraldic !) blazon or translation |
Origin/meaning
The arms were officially adopted in JUne 2001.
The azure indicates the presence of several rivers which cross the municipal territory.
The silver bar refers to the fact that the village is crossed by the Papinais stream; it is shown like a wall referring to the castles of Minzé, Châtelain, Chevallerie and Mortaise in the municipality.
The crosses symbolize St. Mauritius, the patron saint of the village.
