Origin/meaning
The first and fourth quarter show the former rulers of the village, the dukes of Lorraine, and the counts of Nassau-Saarbrücken. The church is the one built on the site of the hospital that gave its name to the locality. The mine shaft symbolizes the mining activity in the municipality.
