Origin/meaning
The arms are used since 1961.
Staufenberg probably received city rights before 1296, and the oldest seal dates from the mid 14th century. The seal showed a double tower with in the gate a shield with the arms of the founders of the city, the Counts of Ziegenhain. Later the double tower was divided into the two towers as in the present arms.
