Official blazon

V modrom štíte strieborný strom s koreňmi a siedmimi lipovými listami, sprevádzaný vpravo červeným kusom textilu, prekrytým strieborným ľavošikmým mečom so zlatou rukoväťou, vľavo striebornou, červenými kameňmi zdobenou biskupskou mitrou so zlatým lemom a zlatými fanonmi.

Origin/meaning

The arms were officially granted on November 3, 2005.

The name of the village according to historical sources is derived from the patron of the local church. The oldest general seal of Martinček village dates from 1766 and shows a tree. The type of tree can not be distinguished.

A second seal is known from the middle of the 19th century (1859) and shows a linden tree, a common symbol in Slavic culture, symbolising justice, fertility and motherhood.

As the tree is a very common symbol, it was decided to add symbols for St. Martin of Tours; a cloak being cut by his sword, and a mitre as a symbol that he was a bishop of Tours.

Literature: Kartous and Vrteľ
