Origin/meaning
The arms were granted on December 28, 1515.
The arms were granted as part of the city rights for the Lords of Kaunitz/Kounic, lords of the town at the time. The arms of the city thus show the family arms of Kaunitz/Kounic between two Bohemian lions.
