Oorsprong/verklaring
Het wapen is gelijk aan het voormalige ambachtsheerlijkheidswapen. Dit wapen is waarschijnlijk weer afgeleid van het wapen van Hertog Albrecht van Beieren, die rond 1400 in bezit was van Zevenhoven. Opgenomen als onderdeel van het wapen van Liemeer.
