77TH INFANTRY DIVISION STATUE OF LIBERTY, US ARMY
History: Activated 5 August 1917, organized 18 August 1917 as 77th Division at Camp Upton (New York). Inactivated at the same location 9 May 1919. Assigned 24 June 1921 to the Organized Reserve. Activated 25 March 1942 and reorganized at Fort Jackson (South Carolina). Re-designated 77th Infantry Division 1 August 1942. Inactivated 15 March 1946 in Japan.
