English | blazon wanted |
Origin/meaning
The arms were officially adopted in August 2014.
The jay (geai) is supposedly a canting element. The broken chains are a symbol for St. Peter, the local patron saint.
The compass rose illustrates the courage of the men of Géry who once emigrated each year to different countries to practice their trades as tinsmiths, coachman, cobblers and others.
The red and gold colours are taken from the arms of the house of Franquemont, former lords of the place.
