MONTHENAULT

Département : Aisne

Blason de Monthenault / Arms of Monthenault
Official blazon
English blazon wanted

Origin/meaning

The arms were officially adopted on December 2, 2021.

The pears are a canting symbol for the Poire family, Lords of the village in the 14th century until 1440. The scallops are taken from the arms of the Chambly family, lords from 1440-1741. The base is taken from the arms of the last family that ruled the village from 1741-1794, the Tour-de-Pin family.

The chevron is taken from the arms of the Collin de Laminière family that played a role in the local history. The donkey head refers to the nickname of the villagers (donkeys).
