VAUXAILLON
English | blazon wanted |
Origin/meaning
The crosses refer to the heavy fighting in the aarea both in 1914, when the village was totally destroyed, and 1940. It also refers to the large cemetary in the village.
The base refers to the Ailette river, which borders the village. The green plant is the Adder's-tongue fern (Ophioglossum vulgatum), a rare plant in the region.
