Shield: Sable, in base an annulet Argent, overall a pile of the like bearing a hawk in stoop of the first between two flashes pilewise Tenné.
Crest:From a wreath Argent and Sable a sun in splendor surmounted by two swords saltirewise and a scimitar palewise points down Proper tied by a cord Gules.
Motto: Speed and accurancy.
Distinctive Unit Insignia Description: A silver color metal and enamel device 1 1/8 inches (2.86 cm) in height consisting of a shield blazoned: Sable, in base an annulet Argent, overall a pile of the like bearing a hawk in stoop of the first between two flashes pilewise Tenné. Attached around the base of the shield a Black tripartite scroll inscribed "SPEED AND ACCURANCY" in Silver letters.
Origin/meaning
Orange and White are the Colours of the Signal Corps. The Black Field symbolises the Unit's Mascots and Logo, the "Nighthawk". The Electronic flashes symbolise tactical communication and speed. Together with the annulet they symbolises an arrow hitting a bullseye alluding to the Motto. The Hawk symbolise the sprit, pride and strength of the Warrior. The Swords and Scimitar symbolises War Service in World War II, Vietnam and Southwest Asia (Operation Desert Shield/Storm). The Sun alludes to the Heath of the Saudiarabian Desert and the Jungles of Vietnam. The Cord symbolises the Unit's Commendations and Unit cooperation.
