Origin/meaning
The arms of the province of Reggio Emilia, as many Italian provincial arms, represent the principal towns in the province.
The shield is quartered: the first quarter contains the arms of Guastalla, the second of Cavriago, the third of Scandiano (modified), the fourth of Castelnovo ne' Monti. Overall a small shield in the center with the arms of Reggio Emilia.
