DIOCESE OF FALL RIVER (Dioecesis Riverormenensis)
Country: United States
Denomination: Roman Catholic
Established: 1904
Official blazon
Argent, a bend wavy azure, over all a cross nowy throughout gules, charged with a star of six points of the first.
Origin/meaning
The wavy blue bend is a canting element for a 'falling river'. The cross symbolises redemptation and graces which flow from the cathedral as a spiritual centre of the diocese.
The red circle with the 6 pointed star honors the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary; the title of the cathedral is ¨Morning Star¨.
Arms of Bishops
William Stang (1904-1907)
Daniel Francis Feehan (1907-1934)
James Edwin Cassidy (1934-1951)

Seán Patrick O'Malley (1992-2002)
George William Coleman (2003-2014)
Edgar Moreira da Cunha (2014-present)
Arms of Auxiliary Bishops
