The Polestar is symbolic of the North Star indicative of the Artic location of the Battalion. The Fleur-de-lis commemorates the Battalion's Baptism of Fire in France. The Five lightnings in the crest symbolises the Battalion's World War II Campaigns. The Lion a symbol of stranght and courage, reflects the European Theather of Operations and the Unit's World War II location and heritage.
