MITRY MORY

Département : Seine-et-Marne

Armoiries de Mitry-Mory

Official blazon

Coupé émanché de deux pointes: au 1er d'or à la croix de saint Lazare de sinople, au 2e de gueules à l'écusson d'argent à trois chevrons de gueules.

Origin/meaning

The arms were adopted on January 24, 1966.

The cross in the chief is the symbol of the Order of St. Lazarus and refers to the former leper's colony near the village. The two points form the letter M, the town's initial. The base shows the arms of Cardinal Du Plessis de Richelieu who live din the Bois-le-Vicomte castle in the municipality.
