HARZGERODE
State : Sachsen-Anhalt
District (Kreis) : Harz until 2009 Quedlinburg
Additions : 2009 Dankerode, Güntersberge, Königerode, Schielo, Siptenfelde, Straßberg (Harz); 2010 Neudorf (Harz)
Verwaltungsgemeinschaft : until 2009 Unterharz
Origin/meaning
The arms were officially granted on November 19, 2010.
I have no image of these arms yet. Any image is welcome !
The previous arms were granted on June 5, 2008.
The arms show a fortified city with three towers, on the middle one a small shield with the arms of Anhalt. The composition of these arms already appeared on the medieval seals of the city, known from 1377 and 1381.
