Shield: Orange and white are the colors used for Signal battalions. The five fleurs-de-lis symbolize the numerical designation of the unit and five battle honors awarded the unit for service in the European Theater in World War I. Voided blue, they also represent five major engagements in France in World War I.
 
The Coat of Arms was approved on 20 October 1965. It was amended to correct the wording in the blazon on 26 October 1965. The Coat of Arms was amended to correct the blazon of the shield on 10 May 2002.  The Distinctive Unit Insignia was approved on 20 October 1965.
