Origin/meaning

The County Dagsburg was a small county located in the present-day French departement Moselle. It existed as an independent territory in the Holy Roman Empire from the 12th century until 1793 when it became part of France. Capital was the city of Dagsburg.

The arms are those of the first Counts of Dagsburg (ruled until 1241) and have been used as arms for the territory by later ruling families ever since.
