Origin/meaning

The arms were officially adopted on April 2, 2021.

The two lions and the chief are taken from the arms of the Pieffort family, lords of Poeuilly from the 16th century until 1862.

The golden hammer is the symbol for Saint Eloi, patron of the church of Morcourt in the municipality.

The sheaves of wheat indicate the agricultural character of Poeuilly. In addition, in a charter of 1213, Othon de Poeuilly, knight and lord of Poeuilly, gave five annual barrels of wheat to the monks of the Saint-Prix de Saint-Quentin abbey, for use and for sharing.

The 1914-1918 war cross was awarded to the town of Poeuilly by decree of October 27, 1920.
