Origin/meaning
The arms show a canting harp, which first appears on the seals of the town from the 18th century. On most old images the harp is placed on a divided shield, but sometimes on a plain blue shield (thus resembling the arms of Ireland). The origin of the background is not known.
The arms by Hupp in the Kaffee Hag albums +/- 1925 |
