GROSSOLBERSDORF

State : Sachsen
District (Kreis) : Erzgebirgskreis
Additions : 1994 Hohndorf; 1998 Hopfgarten

Wappen von Großolbersdorf
Official blazon
English blazon wanted

Origin/meaning

The arms were officially granted on November 23, 2010.

The tree is taken from the old seal of Großolbersdorf. The plough and cogwheel refer to agriculture and industry. The horse is taken from the old arms of Hohndorf and the hops are a canting symbol for Hopfgarten.

The arms replaced older arms, dating from 1997, which had the same symbolism, except for the hops, as Hopfgarten was only merged with Großolbersdorf in 1998.

The previous arms were granted on March 21, 1997.
