PETRIRODA

State : Thüringen
District (Kreis) : Gotha

Wappen von Petriroda/Arms (crest) of Petriroda
Official blazon
English blazon wanted

Origin/meaning

The arms were officially granted on June 5, 1998.

The arms are based on the elements from the old village seal. The lion is taken from the arms of the Counts von Gleichen, who bought the village in 1435. The reed and the spade refer to the Kranichmoor marshlands, from which historically also peat was taken.
