UNTERLAUCHRINGEN

State : Baden-Württemberg
District (Kreis) : Waldshut
Incorporated into : 1971 Lauchringen

Unterlau.jpg

Official blazon

In von Blau und Silber geteiltem Schild oben ein schreitender silberner Schwan.

Origin/meaning

The arms were officially adopted in 1895.

The arms are based on the arms of the Counts Von Lupfen. From the late medieval time until the 17th century the village was ruled by the Counts von Lupfen-Stühlingen, who used a didided shield of blue and silver, with as a crest a silver swan, flanked by two blue shafts topped with a peacock feather. The swan from the crest was placed in the arms to distinguish the arms of similar divided arms. The arms were proposed by the State Archives in 1895 and adopted by the municipality in the same year.
