Additions : 1971 Alzgern
Official blazon
Origin/meaning
Neuötting received city rights in 1321 and already used a seal at the same time. The seal already showed a church or chapel, with in the door St. Mary with Jesus. The chapel is most likely the chapel in Altötting. The next seals from the 14th until the 16th century do not show Mary and child, but only the chapel. This was most likely due to the small size of the seals. The colours are also known since the 16th century.
