Origin/meaning
The arms were granted on November 28, 1949.
The arms show in the upper part the deer antler, taken from the arms of the Counts of Württemberg. The whole area belonged to Württemberg since the 13th century. The diamonds in the lower right field are taken from the arms of the Dukes of Teck, the horns from the arms of the Counts of Urach. Both families played a major role the history of the district.
Literature: Stadler, 1964-1971, 8 volumes.
