(Shoulder Sleeve Insignia)
|
English | Shoulder Sleeve Insignia. Description: On a gold vertical rectangle arched convexly at top and bottom 2 1/2 inches (6.35 cm) in width and 3 5/8 inches (9.21 cm) in height, edged with a 1/8 inch (.32 cm) blue border, a knight in black armor mounted on a silver gray horse with a black saddle and harness. Attached above and below the rectangle are gold scrolls edged with 1/8 inch (.32 cm) blue borders inscribed “BAMBERG” above and “BARONS” below in blue letters. |
Origin/meaning
Blue and gold are the colors of the school. The mounted knight represents the “Order of Selected Knights”, who were dedicated and committed to guard the city of Bamberg, and reflects the unit’s location and civic interaction between the cadets and the city. The shoulder sleeve insignia was approved on 13 April 1993.
