BOUCHES-DU-RHÔNE

Arms (crest) of Bouches-du-Rhône
Official blazon
French D’or au gousset renversé d’azur chargé en cœur d’une fleur de lis du champ, au lambel de gueules brochant en chef.
English blazon wanted

Origin/meaning

The arms are based on the old arms of the Provence, the area to which the province historically belonged. The arms of the Provence show a label and a fleur-de-lis in a blue field. The present arms are canting, and show the mouth of the Rhône river (Bouches du Rhône).
