Origin/meaning

The mitre symbolises the abbey of Fécamp to which the barony of Fontaine-le-Bourg depended. The Delamarre-Deboutteville car refers to the precursor of the motor car with a gasoline engine, which drove from the village in 1884. The shuttle refers to the traditional weaving and spinning industries. The fourth quarter shows the arms of the Du Bosc family, former lords of the Grand and Petit Tendos, a parish and town merged to Fontaine-le-Bourg in 1824.
