Origin/meaning

The arms are the arms of the Counts of Blâmont, and adopted by the municipality in 1953.

The whole area belonged to the Counts of Blâmont, who descended from the counts of Salm. The salmon in the arms are thus canting. The village itself belonged to the Abbey of Domèvre, but this abbey did not have its own arms. It was thus logical to use the Salm arms for the municipality.
