Origin/meaning

The arms were granted in 1936 and again on August 15, 1977.

The letter D, the town's initial has been used on the local seals since the 16^th century. In the 17^th century the seals showed the D under a deer antler, the symbol of Württemberg. Since 1936 the arms are officially adopted and have not changed since.
