Origin/meaning

The arms were granted in 1931.

The dog is taken from the arms of the medieval Lords of Riet, who had their estate in the village. The chief shows two 'Brezel', a type of pastry, which was added as a symbol for the famous local Brezelmarket, which has a long tradition in the village.
