Origin/meaning

The Star indicates the First activation at Camp stanaley, Leon Springs, Texas. The State of Texas beeing known as The Lone Star State. The Wind Mill indicated the Second activation post World War I as a Reserve Unit in New York with HQ at Manhattan. Disbanded in 1943 when most officers had been called to active duty. Reconstituted in the Organised Reserves as 303rd Armored Cavalry Regiment in 1948 and inactivated 31 July 1950 in New York City and disbanded 10 March 1952. It has no link to the 303rd Cavalry Regiment of the Washington Army National Guard.
