Département : Somme
Official blason
- (fr) Écartelé: au 1er d'azur à l'aigle d'or, aux 2e et 3e de gueules à l'étoile d'or, au 4e d'azur à deux merlettes d'or rangées en fasce; sur le tout, d'or à trois chevrons d'azur, au pal du même brochant.
Origin/meaning
The arms were officially adopted on February 12, 2021.
The main shield shows the arms of the De Hangre family. From this family, now extinct, come the lords and lords of Contalmaison from the 16th to the 18th century. The estate remained in the De Hangre family until 1780. In 1780, Elisabeth-Louise de Hangre, heir to the seigneury of Contalmaison, married Pierre-Gilbert du Peyroux, marquis and captain in the queen's regiment of dragoons, and last lord of the village. Following the wish expressed by the town, and with the agreement of Mr. Bernard du Peyroux, current representative of this family, the arms of the house of Peyroux were placed in an inescutcheon.
