Origin/meaning

The arms were officially adopted in June 2021.

The village is situated in a large curve/meander of the Saône river, which is shown by the blue wavy bar. The village used to be dominated by a large tower, hence the tower in the arms. The division and the crosses refer to the fact that the area first belonged in medieval times to the Sales Commandery of the Order of the Templars (red cross), and later to the Order of Saint John of Jerusalem (the silver Maltese cross).
