Origin/meaning

The cross and the black and gold colours are taken from the arms of the Diocese of Litomyšl to which the decanate territory belonged until the 16th century. The silver and red come from the arms of the Archdiocese of Olomouc. The decanate church in Šumperk is connected to the Archbasilica of St. John Lateran, hence the pavilion.
