The locomotive indicates Railway operating the mission of the Battalion. The Lorraine Cross symbolise service in World War I. The four torteaux symbolic of railroad signal lights, commemorate the four battle honours and the Meritorious Unit Commendation awarded the Battalion for service in World War II.
