Origin/meaning
These arms are based on the arms of the town of Richmond in England. For the Richmond in America the tinctures of field and orle are reversed. The blue suggests the completion of Americanization and is a most appropriate background for the silver stars of Our Lady, which also refer to Virginia (virgin).
