Blason de Sainte-Marie-du-Lac-Nuisement
Official blazon
English blazon wanted

Origin/meaning

The arms were officially adopted on May 24, 2002.

The four quarters refer to the four former municipalities. The quarters resemble a wave, or beginning of a vortex, which refers to the formation of the Lac du Der-Chantecoq lake, when three villages were drowned.

The label is taken from the arms of the Dukes of Orléans, to which the area historically belonged. The columns are taken from the arms of the local lords, from the Boyot family.
