Arms (crest) of West Warwick

Official blazon

Gules a chevron between these 3 crosses botonne or, on a chief a chief of the last a demi-sun in splendor issuant of the first.

Origin/meaning

These are the arms of the Earl of Warwick, Richard Rich, differenced with a chief of a setting sun, which signifies “west”.

The blazon is for the original design by the Rhode Island Tercentenary Commission in the 1930s, see below. The town, however, uses the arms in inverted colours (see above).
