Origin/meaning

The arms were officially granted on May 22, 1997.

The chief shows an orb, for Jezus Christ, patron of the parish.

The two squares refer to the glass industry in the town. The diamond refers to the former mercury mine, which made the area quite prosperoous.

The base symbolises the Coina river.
