Background

This album was issued in 1949 and contains the arms and flags of all the Spanish provinces and all independent countries of countries of the world.. The stamps could be bought in small packages and glued into the album.

The album was issued in 1949 (it includes the newly formed states of India and Pakistan, as well as the 1948 arms of Romania), but many of the arms and flags are pre-1945. Also strange versions (f.e. Iceland) are shown in the album. It thus was far from correct, both politically as well as heraldically.

The centre of the album contains a number of maps of the world. It also includes a page on Spanish conquistadores as well as a map of Spanish discoveries.
