Portuguese | Escudo de azul, com uma cruz nodosa de ouro, terminada inferiormente por dois braços de âncora de prata rematada superiormente por um anel, do qual cai um rosário de ouro. Enfiado no mesmo, ladeando a haste da cruz dos dois lados entrelaçando-se no seu pé; e em chefe, um sol de ouro, à dextra, e uma meia lua de prata deitada ( com as pontas para o flanco direito ) à sinistra. Coroa mural de prata de cinco torres. Listel branco com a legenda a ouro " PÓVOA DE VARZIM ". |

Origin/meaning
The arms were officially granted on August 27, 1986. The first arms were granted on November 18, 1939 and have a different design, the second arms were granted on October 17, 1958 and only differ in the crown.
