The arms were officially granted on ??-??-1965.

The arms show a cross, based on the oldest and only known seal of the village, as well as the wheel of the [[Mainz (State)|State of Mainz]] and in the fourth quarter three bard, which are taken from the old border stones of the village. The colours are those of the [[Mainz (State)|State of Mainz]]. 

The oldest known seal dates from 1653 and shows a cross with on the center the wheel of Mainz. 

In 1956 the arms shown below were proposed, in arbitrarily chosen colours.
