===Origin/meaning===
The arms were officially adopted in April 2022.

The red point is a canting element, Balme means cave. The wavy bar refers to the Furans river in the municipality. The ermine lion comes from the coat of arms of the [[Bugey]] region, the grape indicates that is a wine-growing region.  The crosier is the attribute of Saint Claude, the local patron saint.
