===Origin/meaning===
The arms were granted in 1937 to [[Amt Netphen]] and were continued in 1970 for Netphen. 

The boar is derived from the old seal of the Netphen-Irmgarteichen Council from the 15<sup>th</sup> century. The upper half shows the lion of [[Nassau]], as the area historically belonged to the county Nassau-Siegen.
