===Origin/meaning===
The arms show the small arms of the counts of [[Meissen]] with St. Mary as supporter. The [[Margravate of Meissen|Counts of Meissen]] acquired in the 14<sup>th</sup> century the castle and village of Lobeda. The oldest known seal dates from the late 14<sup>th</sup> century and already shows the same composition, as did all later seals.
