District : Liezen
Additions : 2015 Hall bei Admont, Johnsbach, Weng im Gesäuse
Official blazon
Origin/meaning
The arms were never formally granted.
The arms are those which the great Benedictine monastery of Admont has used for centuries. In the past, the citizens of today's municipality were immediate subject of the monastery. A steward administrated the settlement which never had the right to use a seal of its own. When the settlement became - in time - a free municipality and a market borough, it continued to use the abbey arms.
