Escudo de prata com uma azinheira de verde arrancada e troncada de negro, frutada de ouro. O tronco acompanhado por duas maças de curtimenta, de negro, realçadas de ouro. Coroa mural de prata de quatro torres. Listel branco com os dizeres a negro : " VILA DE ALCANENA ".
Origin/meaning
The arms were officially granted on March 27, 1936.
The oak represents the origin of the raw material for the activity of the tanneries, reinforced by the mallets that tilt it. The oak is fruity with gold, symbol of prosperity and wealth. The roots represent the antiquity, tradition and importance of this industry in Alcanena.
