HANNESCAMPS

Département : Pas-de-Calais

Armoiries de Hannescamps

Official blazon

Origin/meaning

The above arms were proposed in 1994 for the municipality. I have no information whether these arms were actually adopted.

The arms combine the arms of the Beauffort family (first and fourth quarter) with those of the Moncheaux family. The Moncheaux family acquired the estate of Hannescamps in the 16th century. The arms of the family can be seen on the local church on the grave of Charles de Moncheaux from 1703. In 1746 the estate was acquired by the Beauffort family, who were the last Lords of Hannescamps until 1793.
